The wellness and complimentary health arenas can be rife with competition rather than integration, plurality and synergy.
We need many more productive links between practitioners and communities in order to radically shift family health, and orient toward powerful preventative practices for all.
My dream is to build a city sanctuary with a medicinal garden for children and mothers, where education and retreat is infused with plant medicine workshops, nourishing botanical products and refreshments, a natural health library, holistic doula services, conception-to-postnatal immersive experiences, and menarche-to-menopause support in the herbal red tent. Here we will weave the vital practices of the ancients with the urgent needs particular to modern ways of living. Expect to be held, rest and emerge with the deepest of roots for thriving health.
At the root of my herbal work is a desire to create vibrant and harmonious relationships with ourselves, others, nature and the future. I teach more than 60 children each month the ways that the plants can support their own and their family's health, covering a huge variety of preparations and the fundamental tenets of herbal medicine. As part of a growing group of Junior Herbalist Leaders in the U.K., I hope to help forge a resilient strategy for improving the wellbeing of the next generation.
